Lotus Blossom Tenor Mango Pineapple Ukulele

I’m still getting pineapple ukulele requests.  Must be something in the air!  This is Linda’s Lotus Blossom Tenor Mango Pineapple Ukulele.

Not your average piece of Mango Wood

Linda is a collector, player and composer from back East and I am pleased that she asked me to build a pineapple ukulele to add to her very eclectic collection of custom instruments.

Her request was a pineapple ukulele with some of my newest Chocolate Heart Mango.  Fortunately I had a couple of sets left since this has been a very popular wood of late.

Lots of Colors and Looks

Adding to the build, Linda requested Blue Paua Abalone purfling with Sea Green fiber accents,

and this Lotus Blossom Inlay made from white mother-of-pearl and paua abalone.

The rest of the build was left up to me so I used Honduran Mahogany for the neck, India Rosewood for the binding, and India Ebony for the fret board and bridge.  India ebony is a little softer than African ebony but most pieces have been jet black unlike the African spiecies.

I especially like my newest accent wood–Asian Satin Wood Burl.

All in all, the Lotus Blossom Tenor Mango Pineapple Ukulele offers a little bit of everything including a lot of fun.
