The Love Machine Hula Hips Tenor Ukulele
Without being overly extravagant, this Hula Hips Tenor Ukulele is now a one-of-a-kind. This is The Love Machine Hula Hips Tenor Ukulele. While being a bit wider and deeper than the standard tenor shape it is not out of proportion for a grand tenor.
There is a side, sound port in the shape of a heart. The rope purfling is a nice addition as well.
The peg head has a nice Honu inlay by artist Larry Robinson. He’s probably sick of making these for me, but everyone seems to like them.
The top wood is a nice set of salvage Sitka Spruce from Alaska via Brent at Alaska Specialty Woods. This piece has great tap tone and very tight growth rings. I like the strong medulary rays in the wood the best.
And lastly, a nice set of Koa for the back and Sides. This wood is from the Big Island of Hawaii via Hearne Hardwoods.
Joe plays The Love Machine Hula Hips Tenor Ukulele for his wife dancing the Hula. Now that’s Love!
