Figured Bubinga And Redwood Custom Ukulele - Sold
I never get enough of a Figured Bubinga And Redwood Custom Ukulele. This is a super tenor shape.
It’s All About The Woods
Body: this is figured African Bubinga. It’s not the typical because of both the color (sapwood) and figure (don’t know what to call it). In addition it is a lower density than the dark red heartwood Bubinga and has a warm tap tone.
Sound Board: another set of sinker Redwood–also lower in density than non-sinker but has a fairly bright and responsive tap tone with excellent sustain.
Binding: pomelle Sapele with blue/maple fiber purfling.
Neck: Central American Mahogany with pomelle Sapele lamination.
Accent Woods: pomelle Sapele and figured Australian Narra.
Fret Board and Bridge: the rarish Malagasy Rosewood. The color will remain stabile although darkening slightly with oxidation.
The Rest Of The Build
Strings: Romero low “G”.
Nut and Saddle: unbleached bone.
Tuners: Gotoh UPT.
Case: Crossrock ABS.
Fret Markers: white MOP.
And
This Bubinga is a classic. I’d like to have more of this wood but it seems to be only rarely available. The combination of sinker redwood and this low density Bubinga makes for a very striking look but also a very unique sound. Truly a one-of-a-kind Figured Bubinga And Redwood Custom Ukulele.
