Black Tiger Myrtle Wood Tenor Ukulele
This custom tenor ukulele was ordered by my Myrtle Wood supplier. Vince has got some great sets and you should check his site at: www.pacificcoastwoods.net. We’re calling this Black Tiger Stripe Myrtle.
As I have said before, there is very little of this particular look available and so I am calling it rare. As usual, the focus is on the wood and sound so the compliments are subtle using Ebony for binding, and Oregon black walnut burl, and a Paua Abalone rosette for the accents.
Note that the soundboard, back bracing, neck and kerfing are all Port Orford Cedar–a tonewood of note since it is also not readily available but highly prized for its tonal qualities, light weight and strength. Look but don’t touch, it bites!
Upon receiving this instrument Vince wrote: “. . .exceeded my expectations. . .it is simply stunning. . .you did a fantastic job!!!”
