Koa Baritone Ukulele 2017
I don’t get many requests for Baritone Ukulele and when I do they usually come in multiples. This new Koa Baritone Ukulele 2017 was a shop request for Hale Ukulele. Ric has been getting more and more requests for Baritone Ukulele for the past year and he’s been pressing me for some time to get with the program. I got a new side bender and so had to make up a new pattern for the bender and new mold. I decided to go with a basic model without frills for the first off.
The build is all Koa with Blue Abalone Rosette and black and yellow purfling. The binding is India Rosewood, the neck is Honduran Mahogany with internal carbon fiber truss rod. The finger board and bridge are Amazon Rosewood.
The latest new wood for accents is Australian Mallee Burl. I also used Romero Strings for this instrument with Gotoh UPT tuners.
Not too bad for a first off. Number two is in the works now.
