Let The Wood Speak For Itself

Body:  “jaguar scratch figure” Honduran Mahogany.  Hey, some of the most coveted acoustic guitars are mahogany.  It’s been almost totally overlooked since Martin stopped making ukuleles in the 1900’s.  This is special since it is a seldom seen figure and chatoyance.

Mahogany And Primavera Custom Ukulele

“jaguar scratch figure” Honduran Mahogany.

Sound Board:  Mexican Primavera.  This is sometimes referred to as “blond mahogany” but it is NOT a mahogany species.  Mostly plain and lightly figured this colorful and highly figured sample is the exception.  The tap tone is very similar to the Honduran Mahogany body.

Neck:  Honduran Mahogany with carbon truss rod.  The necks are now finished totally in epoxy and then sanded to 4000gt for a super smooth feel and finish that is impervious to sweat and moisture.

And

Simple is sometimes better.  There’s just so much going on with these figured woods that a simple rosette and purfling looks much better to me.    I thought the sound to be very pleasing to my ear.  Whether picked hard or soft the sound was clear and focused with my usual volume and sustain.  Of course, this judgement will best be made by the new owner.  He is in possession of some very fine ukuleles and I am anxious for his appraisal and comparison.  I’ll add that as soon as I hear as well.  That said, there ain’t nuth’n wrong with a Mahogany And Primavera Custom Ukulele.
