Custom Claro Walnut Baritone Ukulele - Sold
Here’s the latest Custom Claro Walnut Baritone Ukulele. This is my “big baritone” sized instrument which is now my standard baritone build.
It’s All About The Woods
Body: what’s not to like about some colorful, curly Claro Walnut. Typically Claro is a warm wood and somewhat mid-range, at least for a guitar; but, I find it works extremely well in these small instruments.
Sound Board: so, I paired it with some bright Dark Forest Cypress. This pairing is, in my opinion, one of the best for these unique woods. And, I love the dark look.
Binding and Accents: curly Koa with green/black purfling.
Neck: Claro Walnut with carbon truss rod.
Finger Board and Bridge: got ‘yer Brazilian Rosewood here. It’s radiused and the nut width now is 1 7/16″. The scale is a comfortable 20″ which makes for easy fingering.
The Rest Of The Build
Tuners: Gotoh 501.
Head Stock: Koa and Claro combo.
Fret Markers: White MOP.
Strings: Oasis linear Baritone.
Case: Crossrock ABS. It barely fits.
And
I quote: “My baritone arrived yesterday in one piece. I have to say it did not disappoint. This thing is a sound cannon and the sustain is incredible. . . .The neck is fantastic. So silky and it does not feel like you’re holding a baseball bat when you play.” Of course, I have my own comments but I think that’s enough for this Custom Claro Walnut Baritone Ukulele. Yeehaw cowboy!
