Koa Mix Custom Ukulele - For Sale $1650

Too much is not enough!  Koa that is.  Here’s a new super tenor uke with a mixture of koa visual textures.  This is a Koa Mix Custom Ukulele.

Compression curl koa sound board.

It’s All About The Woods

Body:  crinkle curl koa.

Koa Mix Custom Ukulele

Crinkle curl koa body.

Sound Board:  compression curl Koa.  I started the build with the idea of using a traditional western red cedar.  This would be a good choice for both appearance and sound, especially since I had planned on using the koa fret board and bridge.   But…..I lost it and guess I just had to go for it.  It’s not quite a FrankenUke but close.  A FrankenUuke has every piece of the build a different wood.  Hmmm, an all koa FrankenUke?

Neck:  stacked curl koa.   Sanded epoxy finish.

Fret Board and Bridge:  radiused, stabilized blister curl koa.

The Rest of the Build

And

It’s got all the looks you could possibly want in Koa and it sounds pretty darn good to boot–good volume, good sustain and a rich voice–at least, to my ear.  So gang-a-roony, if koa is your thang then maybe this Koa Mix Custom Ukulele should be yours.
