Every once in awhile I come across some unique looking wood that I can’t resist. That is definitely the case with this Colorful Koa Custom Ukulele.
Colorful figured Hawaiian Koa.
It’s All About The Woods
Body: it’s not only colorful but this Koa has a lot of figure and in the light the most spectacular golden hued chatoyance. This is a real find. The wood is very low density and thus will definitely be on the warmer side, much like Mango.
Wow figure, grain, color and curl.
Binding: blond curly Koa with green/black purfling.
Bl;ond curly koa binding with cultured opal rosette.
Neck: Central American Mahogany with carbon truss rod.
Fret Board and Bridge: radiused Brazilian Rosewood.
Accent Woods: curly Koa.
Koa just keeps on giving.

Rosette: greenish cultured Opal.
Fret Markers: white MOP.
Nut and Saddle: unbleached Bone.
Strings: Romero, low “G”.
Tuners: Gotoh UPT.
Gotoh tuners are standard.
Case: Crossrock ABS.
