Chocolate Heart Myrtle Custom Ukulele
Myrtle wood seems to have a greater variety of looks and colors than any other instrument wood. I’m naming this particular look ” Chocolate Heart” since it has such rich and varied browns, some greys and some hints of dark red mahogany all swirled together.
The result is a very rich and warm look. Each set I’ve used so far has had a different look. The India Rosewood binding and red/black purfling was a perfect compliment to the look. I’ve got some 4 piece sets that I am thinking of pairing with Cedar and Spruce tops that should present some different looks and tonal qualities. I haven’t been disappointed with the sound of any of these instruments yet.
The neck is African Black Limba, the finger board and bridge are a chocolaty Munn Ebony and the accent wood is Oregon Black Walnut Burl. This custom tenor ukulele is now at Hale Ukulele in San Diego with a few other friends.
