Custom Koa Tenor Ukulele for Hale Ukulele in San Diego

KoaTenor ukulele for Hale UkuleleHere’s a Custom Koa Tenor Ukulele for Hale Ukulele in San Diego.  For this custom tenor ukulele I have used another set of salvage Koa from the Big Island of Hawaii.  This particular set of Koa does not have a really strong curl but what it lacks in curl it makes up for in color and grain. Personally, I get tired of using the same look in woods for any instrument because it gets really boring.  This Koa is very woodsie and has great chatoyance.  Rarely, with this salvage wood, will I get more than one or possibly two sets that have a similar appearance.

Tenor Ukulele for Hale UkuleleI have accented this custom Tenor Ukulele with a blue and white purfling.  The binding is India Rosewood and the accent wood is Spalted Mango also from Hawaii.

Koa Tenor Ukulele for Hale UkuleleThe neck is Honduran Mahogany with internal carbon fiber truss rod and the finger board and bridge are Macassar Ebony.

Koa Tenor Ukulele for Hale UkuleleAs usual, I have used a low “G” set of GHS flourocarbon strings while the tuners remain my standard–Gotoh planetary gold.  Simple, straight forward and very ono-kine as is the sound of this Custom Koa Tenor Ukulele for Hale Ukulele in San Diego.
