Here’s the sister to the Story Woods Custom Ukulele. This is a super tenor Brazilian and Swiss Custom Ukulele.

Body: Brazilian Rosewood with a curly koa backstrip wedgie.

Sound Board: Swiss “Moon” Spruce. This one has a little bearclaw figure.
Binding and Accents: curly Hawaiian Koa with blue/maple purfling.

Neck: Central American Mahogany with carbon truss rod. Sanded epoxy finish.

Fret Board and Bridge: radiused Brazilian Rosewood.

Rosette: Blue crushed Opal.

Head Stock: Brazilian with Opal inlay.

It’s a different look. Oh, I’m loving that curly koa on both the body and sound board. When you get down to it, there’s nothing like a classic look. Now sound-wise I’m not complainig. It’s got volume and sustain and projection. I believe it’s a bit warmer than sister but really hard to tell. The strings weren’t totally set when I made the comparison. I’d say the Swiss is a bit warmer than the Redwood while the Redwood seemed to have a bit more focus. Huh? Anyway, I think the the sound was a touch closer–I’d say that this has to do with the center sound hole rather than the offset. But, did it make a difference–hell no! If I had just one instrument it would be a Brazilian And Swiss Custom Ukulele–with curly koa accents of course!
