Crinkle Curl Koa Tenor Ukulele
Finally a new post! Here’s the first of a long list of new instruments–a classic tenor shape I’m calling the Crinkle Curl Koa Tenor Ukulele.
This particular set of wood was purchased from Notable Hardwoods. Bruce, the owner, has been working Koa for many years and takes great pride in collecting the best he can find and then air drying and cutting the wood only when it’s ready. Many top named guitar and ukulele builders use this source when it is available.
There isn’t a lot of crinkle curl koa around.
Ken, the new owner of the Crinkle Curl Koa Tenor Ukulele provided the Koa for the neck. This is a little extra work but it sure looks nice.
The accent wood is Australian Mallee Burl. I think the abalone purfling and red/black accent are a perfect match for this cutie.
Crinkle Curl Koa Tenor Ukulele no ka oi!
