New All Koa Super Tenor Ukulele
Here’s a New All Koa Super Tenor Ukulele that I just delivered to Hale Ukulele Saturday.
If you like Koa ukes then I think you will like this one a lot. It feels good, looks good and sounds good. This particular set of koa exhibits warm chocolate colors and multiple figures of curl, quilt and crinkle. I was shocked at the beauty of the wood when I applied the first sanding coat.
I purposely kept the build simple: abalone rosette, simple white/black purfling accents and Honduran mahogany neck. No need to go crazy with this beautiful wood. I did add a really cool “nautilus” inlay to the head stock but unfortunately did not get a picture of it for this post. I do have the picture on my phone though or you can contact Ric at Hale.
Mahogany neck, amazon rosewood finger board and bridge, brown pomelle bubinga accent woods and gold frets and tuners compliment the build.
I’m using Pepe Romero’s low “G” tenor sets at the present on all my tenor instruments. The sound is full and warm as expected.
