Blond Koa Baritone Ukulele - Custom Build-Sold
In the post yesterday is this Blond Koa Baritone Ukulele.
It’s all about the wood
Body: all blond and curly Koa–a look that keeps on giving.
Accent Woods: chocolate curly Koa.
Binding and purfling: chocolate curly Koa with black/maple fiber purfling accents. Simple yet elegant.
Neck: Honduran Mahogany with carbon truss rod.
Fretboard and bridge: ebony species. This is a 21″ scale with 15 frets to the body.
The Rest of the Build
Tuners: Gotoh gold open back 15:1.
Case: Crossrock.
Strings: Oasis linear baritone.
Amplification: Mi-Si. The additional string tension of the 21″ scale really makes this pick-up respond.
Nut and saddle: unbleached bone.
Fretboard markers: white MOP.
And
I’m getting used to the string tension of the 21″ scale. It’s not too much and, in my opinion, gives the instrument a little more pop–not volume but clearer notes. Like the 20″ scale it is easy on the fingers and the ears. Additionally the D/B wound strings give the instrument a little more of a guitarish sound.
I kept the accents on the simple side with few frills except the head stock. When you have beautiful koa like this there really isn’t any need for frills. There you go Blond Koa Baritone Ukulele.
