New Tenor Ukulele New Wood - Custom Build-Sold
New Tenor Ukulele New Wood.
It’s all about the wood!
Back and Sides: Pomelle Sapele with curly mango back strip. I’ve been trying to find this wood for a couple of years and recently lucked upon a new supplier back east. Me so lucky!!!! It’s beautiful. Well, it’s beautiful if you like figured, red-brown wood. This is my first but not my last build using it.
Sound Board: Swiss Moon Spruce with light bearclaw figuring.
Binding and Purfling: Curly Hawaiian Mango with black/maple accents.
Accent Woods: Mango all the way.
Finger Board and Bridge: Brazilian Rosewood.
Neck: Honduran Mahogany with carbon fiber truss rod.
The Rest of the Build
Strings: Pepe Romero with wound low “G”.
Nut and Saddle: vintage bone.
Case: Crossrock fiberglass.
Tuners: Gotoh UPT.
And
I love the look and I love the sound. It will be interesting to test out different sound boards on this sapele. I’ve already got two more planned using both cedar and redwood. That should be fun!
New Tenor Ukulele New Wood–yeah!
