Double Puka Super Tenor Ukulele - Sold
I believe this is the first Double Puka Super Tenor Ukulele that I have made. Usually I do this on the standard tenor shape.
It’s All About The Woods
Body: all curly Koa.
Binding: curly Koa with blue/black purfling. Rosettes are Paua abalone with blue veneer.
Neck: all Mango lamination with carbon truss rod.
Fret Board and Bridge: radiused Brazilian Rosewood.
Accent Woods: curly Koa.
The Rest Of The Build
Head Stock Inlay: sea shells over blue dyed veneer with just a touch of silver sparkle.
Tuners: Gotoh UPT.
Strings: Pepe Romero low “G”.
Case: Crossrock ABS.
Nut and Saddle: unbleached bone.
Fret Board Markers: white MOP.
And
I have made these in the past with a side port, but I’m really not fond of that look even if it might provide a tinsy bit more player feedback. With 3 other instruments to play, all with side ports, this one held its own. The sound is typically Koa but with a bit more sustain because of the larger body. Guess I’m going to have to make some more Double Puka Super Tenor Ukulele.
