Double Puka Koa Custom Ukulele - Sold

I’ve decided to keep this look a regular in my build schedule.  Here’s the latest Double Puka Koa Custom Ukulele.  This is a standard size and shape.

Double Puka Koa Custom Ukulele

Curly Koa.

It’s All About The Woods

Body:  all curly Koa.  I’ve made a number of instruments out of this wood because I purchased a billet that was about ten inches wide by eight feet long.  I still have more since I only make about one a year out of this wood.  It has shocked me big warm sounds.  I would normally expect bright out of this dense wood.

And

Full and warm.  I would have expected brighter or more ukulele sounding with this dense wood but the sound came as a big surprise.  I braced very lightly and that could be the reason?  There isn’t really a need to put a side port in these double puka ukes since the top sound hole placement works in bringing the sound closer to the player.  The next double will be on a Baritone which will be a first for me.  Anyway, double up with a Double Puka Koa Custom Ukulele.
