Black and Bear Custom Tenor Ukulele
I love the unlimited variation that nature provides. Here is a new custom tenor ukulele that I just delivered to Hale Ukulele in San Diego. Yes, it is another Oregon Myrtle Wood ukulele with black tiger stripe. This particular set was not curly but it has wonderful dark coloration and a very unusual pattern. I decided on a really nice Bear Claw Sitka sound board to compliment the Myrtle wood back and sides.
A Black Walnut neck went perfectly with this combination of wood. The accent wood is Black Walnut Burl. I have used India Rosewood for binding and Ebony species for the finger board and bridge.
The purfling is black/white wood strips which went very well with the natural beauty of the wood.
The tuners are Gotoh Gold Planetary 4:1, and the strings are GHS flourocarbon with Sarah’s low “G”. This instrument really spoke to me. I hope you like it as well.
