The Roberta Tenor Ukulele
This is the first of three standard tenor ukuleles recently delivered. I’m calling this one The Roberta Tenor Ukulele.
This set of Koa wood is the second to last from 4 sets that I received from Allied Lutherie about 4 years ago. This is salvage stump wood from the Big Island of Hawaii. Colorfull, curly, beautiful–what more can I say! I’ve horded this wood and show it to prospective clients only about once a year. It’ll be a sad day when the last set is gone.
A small gold mother-of-pearl dove was added to the head stock laminate.
By request, a black and white herringbone backstrip, purfling and sound hole rosette were added. I worked in some blue turquoise fiber to help lighten the look.
A pretty straight forward build. A pretty nice sound. This is The Roberta Tenor Ukulele.
