Very Red Baritone Custom Ukulele - Sold
Here’s a new Very Red Baritone Custom Ukulele. This is a Big Baritone shape with florentine cut-a-way.
It’s All About The Woods
Body: Honduran Rosewood. I’ve never liked rosewood that much for smaller ukes. But, with more volume these woods really start to shine. Just think what happens when they are used in guitars. Honduran ranks with the best in my opinion. The grain can be a bit wild but nothing wrong with that–at least in my playbook. And, all those reds!
Sound Board: Fort Ross Chapel Redwood with a nice clear and crisp tone.
Binding: East India Rosewood with red/black fiber purfling. Ultra fancy isn’t needed for this classic build.
Accent Woods: Honduran Rosewood. Lately, I’ve been showcasing the dominant wood in all the different parts of the build. Oh, I did use just a touch of “red” Australian Mallee Burl on the head stock face.
Neck: Honduran Mahogany with carbon truss rod.
Finger Board and Bridge: Bloodwood. This wood is very dense, has a great tap tone and the color doesn’t fade. It’s radiused as well.
The Rest Of The Build
Tuners: Gotoh super-mini 501.
Strings: Oasis with wound D&G.
Amplification: Mi-Si.
Case: Crossrock ABS.
Nut and Saddle: unbleached bone.
Finger Board Markers: white MOP.
And
Like I said above, a clear and crisp tonality. It also has lots of punch whether played hard or soft. I think that covers the bases for this Very Red Baritone Custom Ukulele.
