All Koa Custom Tenor Ukulele - $1575
With the exception of the finger board, this is an All Koa Custom Tenor Ukulele. This is a super tenor shape.
It’s All About The Woods
Body: blondish curly Koa. I decided on a double sound hole for this build since there has been a lot of interest in sound hole variants of late. It’s a Hawaiian look and I think it looks cool. Does it make a difference? Hard to tell since there are so many variants with wood. It does bring the sound closer to the player as with the side port, so I’m not putting a side port into the double puka design.
Binding: curly Koa with yellow/black fiber purfling. The sound hole rosettes are paua abalone.
Neck: light curl chocolate brown Koa with Koa lamination. Carbon fiber truss rod of course.
Accent Woods: Koa.
Finger Board and Bridge: Ebony species. I kept with black on this one to match the purfling. Radiused.
The Rest Of The Build
Tuners: Gotoh UPT.
Strings: Romero low “G”.
Fret Markers: white MOP.
Nut and Saddle: unbleached bone.
Case: Crossrock ABS.
And
Definitely Koa. Bright, good sustain and good volume. Koa has its sound and this All Koa Custom Tenor Ukulele definitely showcases it. Done!
Just a side note. This may be the last instrument started in 2025 with a price under $1600. Sadly, price increases by all suppliers and tariffs are affecting the overall market.
