Body: Brazilian Rosewood.  Still the Holy Grail of rosewoods.

Sound Board:  Fort Ross Redwood.  My last piece, at least for awhile.  When its all gone–well, it’s gone.

Fret Board and Bridge:  radiused Brazilian Rosewood.  White MOP markers.

The Tree head stock face.

Binding and Accents:  “The Tree”  Honduran mahogany with maple/black purfling accents.

Neck:  Honduran mahogany with “fiddleback” curly mahogany lamination.  Carbon truss rod and sanded epoxy finish. Figured maple backstrap.

Strings:  Romero low “G”.

I kept this one on the simple side because of all the “Story Woods”.  I find it a bit daunting that there are so many beautiful instruments being made these days.  But, not a lot of these instruments are to be found with such rare woods.  Tonally, the woods of this instrument speak for themselves; and, isn’t that what we’re really after anyway.  I’ve got another similar build in the works but with a center sound hole and Swiss Moon for the sound board.  It will be interesting to hear any differences.   Nutt’n like a Story Woods Custom Ukulele.
