The Strength of Synergy Super Tenor Ukulele

I just love the look of this Koa–compression curl, wavy grain, multiple colors, and almost pure white sap wood. The downside is that the strong compression curl makes it really difficult to work!

The Strength of Synergy Super Tenor Ukulele

This is The Strength of Synergy Super Tenor Ukulele for Brandon.  His LOGO, of course, on the head stock in lime green reconstituted stone and black mother-or-pearl by inlay artist Larry Robinson.

The wood, personally selected by Brandon, is the focus on this instrument with the bling factor kept at a minimum.

Koa wood is the focus of the instrument

This Koa was rescued from a furniture makers stash in San Jose.  I’ll bet he had it in the shop for many, many  years.  What a find.  There was just enough for this build and for the back and sides of the instrument I built for Kimo in Hawaii.

Lots of compression curl action

Oh hey! One of the Hawaiian definitions for koa is strong. I’m thinking this strong compression curl koa was always destined for The Strength of Synergy Super Tenor Ukulele.
